We began the first Girls on the Run® (GOTR) council in Northwest Arkansas, with the support of the Boys and Girls Club of Benton County in the fall of 2004. Due to the huge success of GOTR® in our area, our council has grown from those initial eight little girls in one location to serving over 1,641 girls in Benton County and Washington County through 2010.
There have been big changes in 2009:

We became an Independent Council (though we will always serve the Boys and Girls Club of Benton County)
-
We transformed from a steering committee to a Board of Directors
-
We formed our own non-profit entity
-
We are delivering the program to more sites than ever
-
We have a new Executive Director, Suzanne Clinard

Girls on the Run ® SoleMates is the charity running “leg” of Girls on the Run ® International and uses the power of running to make a difference for our girls. We are a team of female and male athletes who pursue individual goals, such as running a marathon or triathlon, to raise money for local councils with the support of Girls on the Run ® International. In addition to raising money for our council, Girls on the Run® SoleMates also increases visibility/awareness of our Council and is an excellent volunteer opportunity for people who want to be involved, but cannot coach.
This is a great opportunity to raise money for our Girls on the Run ® council. Our council will receive 80% of the proceeds! It is an amazingly easy program. Best of all, it really “fits” who we are as an organization. Visit the Store NOW!
